Kansas State schoolboard approves change! Oh, but not for the better, that's for sure. Today at some point they officially took one large step back in the world of education by approving new language in their teaching requirements that forces teachers to present evolution as a "flawed" process that most likely could not produce life as we know it.
Which of course opens the door for Christian flavored intelligent design, which is probably the largest collection of "flawed" ideas to grace popular culture in decades. Without going a huge rant about how downright silly this "God of the Gaps" (read your Hippocrates) nonsense is, I just have to wonder how far reaching the effects of this legislation might be in regards to other "evil" modern educational movements.
Next step? Kansas teaches that the world is indeed flat, and that the flat earth is the center of the universe? Maybe we'll see them burning science teachers at the stake, like witches. In any case, I suppose I should feel sorry for kids in Kansas, but hey, it's alot more fun to laugh at them.
New bumper sticker: "If you can read this, your probably not from Kansas!"
