I've got to post this, as it's probably the most amazing story ever.
For some odd reason I'm hanging out in the video dept. yesterday, trying to not do any actual work like usual, and a man comes in looking for a new dish and a new reciever. In the course of his conversation with the salesperson, he's asked "What happened to you current dish?" the story is as follows:
"Well, with those storms last week, we had a bit of a mishap. My dish was struck by lightning, which fried that, then the current traveled down the cables into the house, where it shorted out my reciever"
Well, that's not to bad
"The worst part was when the reciever went, it shot out arcs of electricity everywhere, and killed my dog"
!!!!!
I can't even tell you what my expression looked like. IT KILLED HIS DOG! What the hell! That is by far the craziest thing I have ever heard in my many years as a tech. IT KILLED HIS FREAKING DOG! Maybe I'm just sick, but I would have taken a picture, because that shit is damn hard to believe. How nuts would it be to be flipping through channels, and suddenly you hear this POP and your dog drops into a charred, smoldering mass of fur! CRAZINESS I SAY!
