Made some slight changes to the page this morning, trying to develop a bit cleaner style overall. I'll probably be looking at the layout of the other pages this week since I don't have much offtime to devote to EQ. You'll notice the new mainpage is sporting a firefox logo at the bottom now, and there is a reason for that... It's better than Internet Explorer, has more features than Netscape, and you don't have to put up with MacOS to use it (referring to Safari) If you haven't already, you need to download Firefox. It's Open source (Anti-evil corporation software!), it's Fast as hell (My dad was hardcore IE, until I loaded FFox on his PC, his initial reaction was "WOW, it's like we bought a new PC!") and best of all, the good people over at Mozilla make it for !-FREE-!

On the flip side, Over dinner with friends, I joked that I wasn't worried about IF KSU would screw something up with my Graduation this semester, I was worried about WHEN they would screw it up. I should REALLY stop saying things like that, You think I would have learned by now.
March 27th 11:00AM - Wake up, roll over, go back to bed

1:00PM - Wake up for real, hop in the shower, walk back into the room and load up Email and my Morning internet tab session

1:05PM - Notice an Email from KSU Student Services (the S.S. as I like to call them) with the subject GRADUATION PROBLEM.... ooooooohhh joy!

1:15PM - Call the SS offices, get routed to the Reich Information and torture minister (Head of Graduation Services) and after the formalities of swearing loyalty to the fuerer and such, the call goes like this:

*Der Tourturemaster* Yes, we seem to be missing a form you needed for graduation, for the elective substitution class your taking this semester...

*Sev* When I scheduled for the class, I was jumping through paper hoops for 2 days, and I had my instructor fill out a number of those things...I was told that everything was in order, and that was February...What happened to the form?

*DT* Well, I've gone all through the paperwork here, and there is no Request for Change of credit under Degree Program form signed here...

*Sev* What Happened to my form, It was submitted. That's what "everything is in order" means....

*Silence*

*Sev* Where did this Paperwork go...Do you have the correct file? Student ID **********

*DT* ...Well, I believe the form was lost actually.....

*Sev* Lost?!

*DT* (Cutting me off) Yes sir, the form isn't here, and it IS required for you to graduate. You can pick up the form at the Reich Information Ministry help desk, and it is due by April 1st or you will not be eligible to graduate until the fall...Thanks for calling KSU *Click*

So... I get 4 days to get this form, get my Instructor to sign it, make 300 photocopies, enlarge a photocopy to 16'x25' poster size, and submit it, or I don't graduate. Oh, and they had the campus closed on Monday, so make that 3 days. I swear, when I do finally get out of here, I'll have a PhD in Bullshit

whooooohoooo! After a long few weeks of work, the Sekret Project is finally done! Check out the Resilience Class Magelo Series in the Art > EQArt section of the page for the images. Sashia and I were VERY pleased with how well these came out, and we're hoping the guild likes them as much as we do.

It's always alot of fun to work with other artists, especially when their good natured and really creative. The last 2 projects we've worked together on have just been a blast. Ideas are constantly bouncing back and forth, sparking a whole chain of new things to try. Even better is because our styles are so similar, when I have an idea I'm thinking about, but am unsure of, half the time I check my guild message box and there's a note telling me I should try the exact thing I was just thinking of :D yay for strange cosmic telepathy!

shesh, was my zen all out of whack. I think Atroxis needs to go meditate a bit, because for a monk, he is all over the anger charts.

oh, and Simon is a god. the recent BOFH stuff is a riot!

MAN! I'm pissed. My guild's focus is SUPPOSED to be progression, supposed to be moving forward, so tonight, we are presented with some options.

Option 1) The Plane of Air is at full spawn (I.E. All the critters are waiting to be killed) this is something REQUIRED to move forward, on top of that it drops the BEST items we have seen so far in the game! Killing this stuff takes a good number of very organized people...Like a guild.

Option 2) There are multiple small critters up, roughly 15 of the 85 people online need those multiple small critters to be able to slightly increase our raiding potential. These small critters are done every few days by random groups of players, and anyone can tag along on the kill. Killing them takes roughly 30 or so people.

My Guild has 80+ people on, including 7 (OMG! 7!) Clerics (like THE BIGGEST sticking point for us raiding is low numbers of clerics, 7 is awesome!) 5 Enchanters! Multiple Tank type classes! And like 4 hours of PRIME raid time! So what do we do?! We take option2.....

I was like WHAT THE HELL?! Talk about the last straw. Every night, I log in and listen to the SAME people whine about not being able to get their zone flags done, or not ever raiding the "good old zones" and I stop myself from screaming " GOOD LORD! Your in an ELEMENTAL GUILD! Noone CARES how poorly geared you are, or how much you want to raid the old content your gimp ass Exp guild never could! Some of us have been working for a YEAR solid on getting to this point, and we're sick of catering to the lowest common denominator" Tonight I could not stop myself. I screamed it, and logged off so that I wont be a smartass while they waste their time flagging 3 people by killing a gimp ass trash mob. One of the guild Officers asked me if I was logging off? My answer? Hell yes I'm logging off! Every night I see us waste time calling raids, letting other guilds have all the good critters, and not sticking to our own plans because people don't know what the hell they are doing.

worst thing is, I'm not the only one that is sick of it, I'm just the only one that's hit their public breaking point. 1/3 of the guild is on the verge of giving up, and not a damn person in charge realizes it. Tonight I was about 1 dumbass comment from deguilding and saying the hell with everyone, and looking for work somewhere that Doesn't have their head up their ass. I mean, everyone has to do the trash backflag mobs eventually, but NOONE does them while the good mobs are waiting to be killed!

well, noone but us....

Made some updates to the page tonight. changed a bit of the layout in the 2 art sections, to divide up the different catagories for some upcoming additions. I'm pretty much over my bout of Ebola flu, and I'm looking forward to getting back to normal activities like....drinking! I missed the frosty goodness of a perfectly brewed ale... B&O should be releasing GandyDancer II here soon, and I'm hearing Coffee brewed stout, so the true geek in me is screaming "OMG! Caffine...AND BEER! WOOOOOOOOOO!"

Want to know what really sucks? I did a ton and a half of laundry today, and being lazy as I am, I havn't put any of it away, so now, in order to go to sleep, I have to fold, hang, or put in drawers a K2 sized mountian of jeans, socks, work shirts, pants, etc, and I really dont want to.

Ok people, I know your lazy, but come on, there is NO excuse to be running around the internet with outdated or no anti virus protection. If your one of these people that is doing this, you make the internet a dangerous place for everyone. Your like an Ebola infected rhesus monkey with a cut finger allowed to make sandwiches at subway without gloves. 90% of all the virus transmission on the web is YOUR fault, because you don't know you even HAVE a virus. Remedy that NOW. Anti-Vir. Anti Vir is a top rate, high power anti virus program, and it's free. You have no excuses now. I swear If I get another infected email today (4 so far), so help me I will find you, and you will be a sad panda when I am finished with you.

Well, not feeling much better today in all honesty, I was able to get to work on time, but I was driving reeeeeeaaaly fast... and I was kinda useless all day as well, what with not being able to really talk to people (no voice) and not wanting to infect everyone with my ebola flu, I kinda kept to myself. I've got a few days off, So I expect I'll be feeling better shortly. Tonight I skipped my Q in favor of a heavy duty power decongestant, hopefully I'll be able to breathe tomorrow.

yay! Alarm #3! kinda dizzy, like I'm hung over, but I'm awake. now I just have to get redy for work in like 15 minutes o_O ....(yea, alarm was a little late...)

Gah, I took the green pills! um yea, bad thing.

For those that do not know, I'm a night person. I usually do not sleep until at least 2-4AM, if I sleep at all. The downside of that is I am NOT a morning person, as such, I usually wake up in the afternoon. When the alarm goes off anytime before like 9AM, I have a hard time rousing myself, Add to this the wonderful hammer-to-the-skull-force-you-to-sleep side effects of the Nighttime Sniffling, Sneezing, Coughing, Aching, Why the hell is the room spinning, medicine. Hell, you know the Q is hard shit when it comes with it's own shotglass.

Anyways, back to my story (must type before hallucinations start), I misread my work schedule. I swear I thought it said I worked 2pm-Close. I swear it! So I stayed up to watch .hack//Sign on Cartoon Network, and ended up staying up to watch Teen Titans. Wandered upstairs, took my swig of the Green death, chased it with some Pepsi and plopped down on my PC chair. Out of the corner of my eye, like some evil omen, I see my work schedule flop off the shelf. I glance at it as I pick it up, and the numbers next to my name stare back at me.... 10:00AM.....um....oh....shit...

so, that means I have to wake up around 8AM to get all my stuff taken care of before work. I'll still be under the influence of the Q around then...Well dear readers, I guess I will just have to hope that the 5 alarm clocks I have set will rouse me from the green slumber, I'll tell you how the day went when I get a chance! Off to bed with me now!

Saturday, March 13, 2004

so another late night of working on stuff under the influence of drugs. It's a long story, but in highschool I found out that me and whatever is in Nyquil don't get along if I stay awake. I end up getting all trippy and hallucinating. Being sick, and not having to work mornings, I decided that it was worth taking the big Q to speed up this recover process.

Last night my keyboard started to melt while I was working, and was sticking to my fingers, so I went to bed. tonight, my lamp is pulsing bright and dim, bright and dim. It's doing it right now as I type on my still solid keys, and it's kinda freaking me out. Actually, I got one of the last 4 parts of my current 15 part top sekret project done. only 3 more left to do! yay! gonna hit the sack before the walls start to turn into snakes or something.

blech. I've been sick the last few days and I hate it. I can barely talk, eat, swallow, my head is trying to presurize itself to the point of exploding. on the upside I've gotten alot of work done on a few projects, which I'm really pleased with. my only real gripe, aside from being sick, is that Symphony X and Queensryche are touring and the only local date is the same time as the Iced Earth show >_< DAMN THEM! I havn't missed a SymX show yet, and I dont want to miss this one! But Iced Earth comes around so little, I can't miss them! :( SymX needs to stop taunting me with these endless tour stops and go write another album! It's been almost a year since The Odyssey came out! gah, and they had to tour with Queensryche! what I wouldn't give to see any part of Operation: Mindcrime live again. I am a sad panda.

Friday, March 05, 2004

blech, I hate getting up early. the one day this week where frozen arse ohio is supposed to get to 70 degrees and I'll be stuck working all day :( well, at least I'll be able to come home and hopefully open some windows and get rid of the stale ait in here from like november.

In other news....the other lace on my boot just snapped. I just replaced the left lace like a week ago and now the right one went as well :( one of these days I'm going to have to break down and buy new boots, i mean, these are only 3 years old...they should last longer than that.

Woooo! Lord of the Rings: Return of the King won every single award it was nominated for at the Acadamy Awards last night, tieing it with movies like Titanic (sucked) and Ben Hur (good). if you combine the 3 movies into thier trilogy, then LoTR has won more awards than any series of movies in history :D.

Now I liked the LoTR soundtrack, but I would have loved to see it written by Peter Jackson's first choice of composers... Originally, Peter Jackson contacted the Fantasy Metal band Blind Guardian(site seems to be down for an update at the moment). Blind Guardian has long been working in the Tolkien genre. thier album "Somewhere Far Beyond" featured the 2 part "bards song" which outlined some of the storyline of the classic fiction "The Hobbit" and later released an entire album following the storyline of Tolkien's "The Silmarillion" which became one of the most popular metal albums in it's class. When Jackson contacted them, Hansi and crew were exstatic, but....P.J. wanted them to cut a demo in less than month, and stop production of thier Album "A Night at the Opera" and cancel subsuquent touring to complete the movie soundtrack. Hansi would have none of it, Blind Guardian fans were more important to the band.

Because LoTR did so well at the awards, I've decided to post a tidbit of what the soundtrack could have been. the song "Lord of the Rings" (pulled song) was released on BG's "Forgotten Tales" album, and is a decent example of thier work, however I think everyone should go out and buyNightfall in Middle Earth :) it's only like the best CD ever.

SigX! The fresh maker.
